Well this weekend see's one of the Heros of Istanbul return, Dietmar Hamman, or Didi as he will always be known,
is a true Legend. He won everything possible with the reds, except the elusive Premiership Title that we seek so much. He was an ever Present in the squad up until his last season when Sissoko was brought in to replace him, though he still got quite a lot of games. He went unnoticed a lot of the time, but true reds will know how important he was to our team. Even if he did only score 8 goals. Perhaps the thing he will be most remembered for is that he was left out of the starting line-up on the 25th of May 2005, this probably hurt, especially since he only found out an hour before kick-off, but he took it like a professional and got on with it. Then when he came on at half time he changed the game, took pressure of the defence, nullified the Milan attack and gave Gerrad free reign to do what we all love to see him do, attack, and well the rest is history. Lets hope he plays tomorrow, just not too well, and gets a standing ovation from the Kop.
